Video: Daily Intention – Fringes to Frontier
February 12th, 2010 // 10:46 am @ admin
Hello and good morning, each moment a gift
Another spectacular day in the Universe
Fringes to frontier, my intention of the day
From the center, the usual, and ordinary, is a way
Then you move to the outside and feel the day
Always out and about you say
Yet not fitting in and a misfit this day
Uncomfortable to be, and have fits, no way
Not fitting in to the mood, the mold of the day
An outcast is a feeling, marginal, as thee play
On the edge, periphery, you laugh away
The fringes are uncomfortable and a blessing you say
Out beyond the boundary, an outcast, good day
They walk away and leave me, not knowing what to play
And now a thought from me I say
The frontier is where you build
All new, and beyond the yesterday
And there I love to sing and play
To forge ahead and create, this day
A new and different way of play
But first I felt in the fringes, pain I say
The thorns, the struggles, the pain
Oh why, please take away the pain of this day
In the pain is the gift, I know that of God, and the way
It pushed me to see and love all, each day
The gifts, the gold, the frontier,
All glitters the journey and the way
Namaste,
Dr. Rob

Daily Quote:
Refuse to fall down. If you cannot refuse to fall down, refuse to stay down, lift your heart toward heaven like a hungry beggar, ask that it be filled and it will be filled. You may be pushed down. You may be kept from rising. But no one can keep you from lifting your heart toward heaven-only you. It is in the middle of misery that so much becomes clear. The one who says nothing good came of this is not yet listening.” ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Dr. Rob’s on my mind:
A beautiful awesome and amazing day, a blessing of all things that come to me, and to all it is a gift. All a gift of the creator and now I know that the fringes are in fact the frontier of the Universe. This morning on my way into work I listened to the inspiring words of Clarissa Pinkola Estes, from the Mother Night series. She is an American poet, author and psychoanalyst who has written many books on the journey of life and the healing of the soul. In one of her stories she discussed that the fringes are in fact the frontier of life. Although I have only scratched the surface of her writings, I know that they are a guide to all of us, and I look forward to more and more exploration of her creativity. Reading and writing your story is the way of the creator to make the connections of the individual to the collective energy of one. Estes knows the value of reading and writing, for she has also funded the Guadalupe Foundation for literacy, empowering others to explore the fringes, the frontier.
One of the gifts of life is that at one time or another in life we have all felt like outcasts of the Universe. There, we are pushed, or drawn, to create new and out of the box thoughts, things, and connections. Fitting in to the mold and the center is not where things grow. It is the nature of the Universe to move outside the usual and customary, producing the new and different. Within the center of the fertile fields the growing crop begins to find limited resources or we begin to feel that there is something else to seek. The energy of the Universe is always pushing and pulling, moving in directions of change and evolution. And human evolution is similar to all other living energies; all pushed to move beyond the fringes. And in the fringes, the frontier, new growth develops. Additionally, within the proliferating fields, the waste is building up and adding toxins to the mix.
Clear the mind of the toxins, the tobacco and alcohol, the hate and the judgment. Seek more fertile foods, and fertile thought. Find the love of all as you move and create in life. We are all on the frontier of the Universe and our move to the fringes, the outside, is the nature of our being, to open up to the beauty of all things. Pull out the ideas that are new and different, radical to some and innovative to others. This is where and when we will be moved well beyond our comfort zone. Now set out on the journey and do something. For me trying is a struggling word and I do not struggle at anything. We may be challenged by new and different and my old word was to try. Yet now I simply and easily do. For the doing is the key and as I usually say, throw more and more mud. Something will stick and this is where the beauty and innovation comes. Saying the same thing in different ways is all that we are doing. To love all, forgive all and harbor no judgment. All must start with ourselves. Also remember that there should be no attachment to the outcomes. for the mistakes are also part of the creative process.
Short and sweet each day I say, love all in life,
Dr. Rob

Dr. Rob’s 12 minute meditation:
Fringes are the frontiers
The Universe of love
The gift of the breath
The beginning of life
For us to take a breath and take it all in, I like
No fear as the energy touches all of me
As I walk in the garden, the sprouts appear to be
In with the breath and a smile I see
Touching all of thee
Beauty is what thee be
Moving and moving for all to see
Tai chi, the mantra, is part of thee
Music vibrating is simply the key
To love all, the frontiers that you be
A smile is the key for us to see
The fringes are the building block of life
Now the frontier, the gift of sight
The breath, the smile, the sounds, moving me
Love to all, Dr. Rob

dear dr. r… the internet is such a strange universe; a colleague sent me your site tonight and so….
“The Ultimate Self-Portrait: Dont ever ever take another photo of yourself, ever. Just this one, the pottery wheel, the pause, the ‘surge protector’, the trashcan, the slurry bucket. the cut clay, the wedging table somewhere out of sight. Just like a soul on earth; all there, all to be formed, all forming. Pause, yes, pause in thought Potter.”
I’d be honored dr.r. if you’d send me a copy of your photo without all the writing over it. I’ll put it up at the site I work with along with the poem I just left you. You can find some of my work here: http://themoderatevoice.com/62523/health-care-letter-from-home/
beauty of a moment caught by camera, your pix.
be blessed,
