Doctor shares positive thinking with new blog
For Dr. Robert Kiltz life is a journey of experience that each and everyone of us has a say in making good or bad as we go along on our own personal journey.
Kiltz says happiness is all about learning, taking risks, letting go of fear and focusing on the positives.
To help promote this idea and share some of his own positive energy with his community and the world around him, Kiltz has started a daily blog on his Web site to share his thoughts and intentions of the day that are designed to help readers focus on the positives of life.
Kiltz of the Central New York Fertility Clinic brought in Kristin and Mark Magnacca, motivational speakers to help promote understanding and communication in his office.
“They suggested that we share a daily intention,” Kiltz said. “It is designed to set the tone of the day and to help improve the atmosphere at work.”
The Magnaccas encouraged Kiltz to try this for 21 days.
“At first I was focusing on a word,” Kiltz said. “And I would write a small poem or paragraph. At first it was more for myself and then I started sharing them with the people in the office and printing them up to hang on the back of the office door and then I started e-mailing them to staff and sharing them with employees, co-workers, friends, family and it grew from there.”
Kiltz, who is a supporter of Skaneateles based events like Skaneateles Festival, decided that after a while of sharing these thoughts with people in his immediate circle he wanted to make them available in a more public format on his Web site.
In January, Kiltz set a goal to write a new daily intention each day Monday through Friday for a year.
His writings are part of a personal journey for Kiltz where he began taking philosophical inspiration from figures such as the Dalai Lama over the past five years.
“I’ve never thought of myself as a great writer. But this has been a very positive experience for me,” Kiltz said. “It has helped me understand my universe a little bit better. This is a way to reflect positive ideas and maybe help some other people tweak their own focus to focus in on the positives and let go of the negatives in life and not take things so personally. Every day it is up to each and every one of us to create our own day and to decide if it is going to be positive or negative. I believe living and following the positives is going to make a better life than following the negatives.”
In his latest efforts, Kiltz tries to focus on themes for each week and to write each day on things that reflect that theme.
In his recent blogs, the avid ceramics maker has focused on topics like the “the winners circle” and “kicking it up a notch,” encouraging his readers to see the beauty in life and their role in creating and understanding their own happiness.
“I just hope people can reflect on some positive ideas,” Kiltz said. “And will find a way to enjoy life and let go of the negatives.”
