Dr. Robert Kiltz, director of CNY Fertility Clinic, came to Syracuse five years ago, after practicing in San Francisco: “We provide the technical services that any clinic in the world can provide.”
If you’ve ever wanted children of your own and for some reason were unable to, would you know what to do? Would you know where to go for answers if you were looking for a solution to your problem?
Today, for many unexplained reasons, about 6.1 million couples in the United States are considered to be infertile. Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after at least one year of unprotected intercourse.
For the past two years, advertisements have appeared in local newspapers, soliciting women between the ages of 21 and 32 to be egg donors. The egg donation program, also known as PRIDE Pregnancy Initiation with Donated Eggs is run from the CNY Fertility Center, located in the Physician’s Office Building at Community General Hospital. Dr. Robert Kiltz is its director.
Dr. Kiltz came to Syracuse five years ago from his practice in San Francisco. He became interested in the field of infertility during his medical education, and “felt a sense of compassion” for infertile couples. After a two-year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCLA Medical Center, he went on to a full time practice in infertility treatment. He came to this area in search of a life without all the problems of big city life.
Couples who visit the Fertility Center can expect a full range of reproductive services. Says Dr. Kiltz, “We provide the technical services that any clinic in the world can provide.” In fact the center has had clients from all over the world. According to the Center’s mission statement, “couples are provided with comprehensive reproductive services in a compassionate, friendly environment.” The good news for local prospective clients is that these services are available here in Central New York.
